This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) describes how One Fix Boston (“One Fix Boston,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), an independent residential and commercial appliance repair service operating in the City of Boston and the Greater Boston metropolitan area, Commonwealth of Massachusetts, collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information obtained from visitors to onefix.boston (the “Site”) and from customers and prospective customers (collectively, “you” or “User”).
By accessing the Site, requesting an estimate, scheduling a service appointment, submitting a contact form, leaving a review, or otherwise transmitting information to us, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Site and do not transmit information to us.
1. Scope
This Policy applies to information collected through the Site, by telephone, by SMS or text message, by electronic mail, in person at a service appointment, or through any other channel through which you interact with One Fix Boston. It does not apply to the practices of third parties that we do not own or control, including third-party websites or services to which the Site may link.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Identifiers and Contact Information: first and last name, postal address, neighborhood or town, e-mail address, telephone number.
- Service Information: appliance make, model, serial number, symptoms reported, photographs you submit, scheduled appointment times, on-site notes, parts ordered, invoice records, and warranty information.
- Payment Information: when you remit payment, payment is processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not store full payment-card numbers on our servers; we may retain transaction confirmation identifiers, the last four digits, and billing ZIP codes for record-keeping and tax purposes as required by Massachusetts law.
- Communications: the content of e-mails, SMS messages, contact-form submissions, review submissions, and recorded statements you voluntarily provide.
- Technical and Usage Data: Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, date and time of access, and similar diagnostic data automatically logged by our hosting provider.
- Cookies and Similar Technologies: small data files stored on your device that enable basic site functionality, remember preferences, and, where applicable, support anonymized analytics.
3. Sources of Information
We collect the information described above directly from you (when you call, text, e-mail, fill out a form, or speak with a technician), automatically through the Site (via standard web-server logs and cookies), and, in limited circumstances, from third-party service providers (such as a payment processor confirming a transaction or a routing service confirming a service address).
4. How We Use Your Information
We process information for the following purposes, each of which constitutes a legitimate business interest of One Fix Boston or is otherwise permitted under applicable law:
- to respond to your inquiries and provide estimates;
- to schedule, dispatch, and perform appliance repair services;
- to order parts, fulfill warranty obligations, and conduct follow-up service;
- to process payments and maintain books and records required under Massachusetts and federal tax law;
- to communicate with you about appointments, parts arrival, invoices, and warranty matters by telephone, SMS, and e-mail;
- to display, with your consent, customer reviews on the Site;
- to detect, prevent, investigate, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, or unlawful activity;
- to comply with applicable legal obligations, including responding to lawful requests from public authorities; and

5. Telephone Calls and SMS / Text Messaging
If you provide a telephone number, you consent to receive telephone calls and SMS / text messages from One Fix Boston relating to your service request, including appointment confirmations, technician en-route notifications, status updates, invoices, and warranty follow-up. Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out of non-essential text messages at any time by replying STOP; transactional messages directly related to an active service appointment may continue until the appointment is closed. We do not sell telephone numbers, and we do not engage in unsolicited telemarketing.
6. Disclosure of Information

- Service providers: to vendors, contractors, and agents acting on our behalf and under written confidentiality obligations — for example, parts suppliers, scheduling software providers, payment processors, hosting providers, and communications platforms.
- Manufacturers and warranty administrators: when required to fulfill a manufacturer warranty claim or to verify parts coverage.
- Legal compliance: in response to subpoenas, court orders, or other valid legal process, or where disclosure is required or permitted by law.
- Protection of rights: to enforce our agreements, protect the rights, property, or safety of One Fix Boston, our customers, or others, and to investigate suspected fraud.

- With your consent: in any other instance where you have directed us to share information.
7. Cookies
The Site uses a limited number of cookies to support core functionality (such as form submission and security) and may use anonymized analytics to understand aggregate site usage. You may configure your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent; some portions of the Site may not function correctly without cookies.
8. Reviews
If you submit a review through the Site, you authorize One Fix Boston to display the review, the name or initials you provide, your neighborhood or town, and the star rating on the Site and in marketing materials. We will not publish your full street address, telephone number, or e-mail address as part of a public review. You may request removal of a previously submitted review by contacting us at Office@onefix.boston.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including, without limitation, to satisfy our warranty obligations, to resolve disputes, to enforce agreements, and to comply with our tax, accounting, and other legal-record-keeping obligations under Massachusetts and federal law. When information is no longer required, we securely delete or de-identify it.
